Creative Economy MA

Course aims

The overall aim of this masters programme is to equip students with the mix of knowledge and skills required to successfully harness the tensions of the creative economy. It has been designed to fast-track your career by developing your knowledge, skills and practical experience of realising value in a specific creative industry.

Bridging the communication gap

A primary rationale for these courses is to address the perceived communication gap between those directly involved in the creative process – the 'originators' – and the many other individuals – such as producers, managers and marketeers –- which together constitute the creative industries.

A diverse selection of individuals

Crucially, the courses will appeal to a wide range of individuals with different backgrounds, levels of experience and learning objectives. However, students will be similar in terms of their appetite for learning, their independent and enterprising spirit, and their willingness to engage with the contradictions and challenges of our creative economy.

Many views, one objective

The courses will enable those with different perspectives from different creative industries to understand and value each other's abilities and skills. As a result, the curricula will be project-based to a significant extent and teamwork will be encouraged in the delivery of many of the modules.
